There are many ways you can bring the benefits of Aromatherapy into your everyday environment.
 Room Fragrancing
Essential oils not only bring beautiful natural fragrance to your home or work space, they have many therapeutic benefits too. They can change the way you feel and think or create a mood.
Below are a few ideas about how you can use essential oils to enhance your living and working space:
 Candle Aroma Burner
A candle aroma burner infuses essential oils into the atmosphere using heat.
  • Fill the aroma burner bowl with water
  • Add 4-6 drops of single essential oil or blend, for large rooms add up to 10 drops
  • Ensure burner is on a stable surface out of reach of children, pets or flammable materials
  • Light candle. Remember don't leave candle burner unattended and remember to extinguish candle after use.
 Vapouriser
Electric vapourisers are a safe and effective way to diffuse oils especially around small children, in the workplace and hospitals. Follow instructions provided by manufacturer
 Aroma Lamp Ring
Place 4-6 drops in ceramic or metal ring and place over light bulb. Refill as required.
 Room Mists
Create your own fragrant room spray by adding 15 drops of your favourite essential oils to about 50ml of distilled water. Remember oil & water don't mix, so shake spray bottle gently each time you mist the room.
 Candle
You can create a fragrant candle by adding a few drops of essential oil to the partially melted wax around the flame of an unscented candle. It's best to blow out the candle, add the oil and then relight.
 Inhalation
Inhalation is the fastest and most direct way of applying essential oils.
 Tissue Inhalation
Place 3 drops of chosen essential oil or blend on tissue or hankie and waft gently around face. Inhale deeply and feel the benefits. Take care not to make contact with the skin as may cause burning.
 Steam Inhalation
Beneficial for colds, headaches, sinus or other head congestion.
  • Add two drops of chosen essential oil to 1 litre hot water
  • Cover head with towel
  • Lean over water, close eyes and inhale deeply for up to 5 min
  • Do not cover head if asthmatic
  • Do not use steam inhalation with sensitive and delicate skin
 Dermal Applications Massage
Aromatherapy massage is a perfect way to enjoy the therapeutic benefits of essential oils
  • Add 4-6 drops of single essential oil or blend to 10ml unscented carrier oil or lotion
  • Remember DO NOT apply undiluted oils directly to skin
  • Essential oils are carried into the body through the skin and their benefits may last up to 8 hours
  • For maximum effects do not bathe immediately after an aromatherapy massage
 Bodycare Applications
Essential oils may be used in a wide range of bodycare applications. Add your favourite essential oil to Biossentials unscented bodycare products including bath gels, moisturising lotions, and hair care products. You can also create natural perfumes to suit your mood, lifestyle and occasion.
 Bath
Take time out and relax in a delightfully fragrant bath. Relieves stress and brings deep relaxation and calm.
  • Add 4-6 drops of your favourite oil or blend to a warm bath. Agitate water well to disperse oils.
  • Oil and water don't mix so we recommend adding some milk to the bath water to help disperse the oils
  • Relax and enjoy
 Compress
Compresses deliver essential oils to a particular area of the body. They can be used to warm or cool an area and are beneficial for fluid or lympathic congestion, muscular aches & pains, headaches, migraines or inflammed skin conditions.
  • Pour 100ml of water into a bowl. Add 4-5 drops of essential oil and swish well. Soak material or face washer in water, wring and cover the affected area. Keep reapplying compress as required.
  • For a Warm compress apply a hot water bottle over compress. Useful for muscle aches & pains
  • For a Cold compress apply ice pack wrapped in a towel over compress. Useful for irritated skin conditions, swellings and headaches.
